Author Visits

I enjoy visiting with readers of all ages at schools, libraries, conferences, booksellers and elsewhere.

My school programs combine science, math and writing into an interactive author visit. Gregor Mendel: The Friar Who Grew Peas can be a launching point to explore the scientific method, reveal the basic life process of heredity, and discuss the art of writing biography. All programs are designed for classrooms of up to 30 students and can be modified for the needs of your students. For suggestions of pre- and post-workshop activities, check out the Educator Guide.

From September 15, 2006 – April 1, 2007, teachers might consider coordinating an author visit or using the book and curriculum guide, in conjunction with a field trip to see Gregor Mendel: Planting the Seeds of Genetics at Chicago’s Field Museum.

Book Signings
Book sales at school events are easy. Once the event is set up a representative from the publisher will help arrange them if your school doesn’t already have a system to do this.
